John Neller is the skipper and owner of Joymar, a 38ft classic yacht that is designed to cruise the oceans of the world with a minimum of fuss and bother. The skipper is in his 30’s with 1000’s of nautical miles to his credit. He is an Australian that is very layed back, he doesn’t scream or yell, he doesn’t panic, he is competent and he will make you feel very welcome.

WHAT DO WE DO? ...

Well we sail the boat...
We snorkel, fish. Bush walk, explore, listen to music, read books, bake our bread, sun bake and meet very interesting people usually on other yachts from all over the world. I enjoy spear fishing, and while we are in reef area, it is not unusual to swimming with a number of reef sharks while trying to catch the night’s dinner.

We take our time getting anywhere, we enjoy the now, and we try and go as slow as possible. If we are doing 1000 miles a month we are going to fast. The whole idea of this lifestyle is to escape the rat race. There are no timetables on joymar. This can be hard for visitors, but if you master it, you will be better for it.
